Shizuoka Collection
Shizuoka is a key region for Japanese tea as it accounts for 40% of the nation's production.
History tells us that the production of tea in the region dates back from the 13th century during the Kamakura Period in Japan.
It is said that the first tea seeds to the area are believed to have been introduced by the Zen Buddhist monk, Shoichi- kokushi, also known by the Buddhist monastic name Enni.
Cup of Japan is proud to build a selection of some of the best teas available in the region, we partner with small-batch producers and offer them access to international customers, our mission is also to support their activities by buying their premium teas at a fair price to ensure the sustainability of their unique craft.
