The Iwakura farm has been cultivating green tea for 80+ years and have been 100% organic for the last 27 of these – which is quite rare in Japan. Iwakura-san said he made this decision to ensure the whole process was as natural as possible so the soil and plants were nutrient-rich producing tasty high-quality tea.
These three teas have been named to reflect the significant role the environment plays on their farm and the very unique all-natural approach adopted:
- 009 YAMA: YAMA means mountain. This organic green tea has distinct and complex aroma & taste that is different from most Japanese teas.
- 010 OKU: OKU means remote/depth. This organic tea is well-refined, not bitter and nicely balanced. It is very smooth right from the first sip.
- 011 KAZE KAZE means wind. This organic tea is fresh and simple in taste with a slight sweet finish. A very pure and easy to drink green tea.
